This is the first painting of seven that will be exhibited in my BFA Show this December. I have chosed to do Urban Decay and Neglect of St. Louis architecture, mainly commercial buildings. My show focuses on these buildings and how they differ from the other buildings downtown and why these were left vacant and others were not. The purpose of this show is to show the interest in these old buildings and even though they are unused and untouched today, that doesn't mean that we should just accept that and move on with our lives, we need to take action. A major influence for this idea comes from the St. Louis Downtown Partnership, a partnership that is completely dedicated to the renovation and renaissance of downtown St. Louis.
I would greatly appreciate anything that you have to say about my topic, any ideas that you have and most important, anything at all about the paintings themselves.

Nice juxtaposition of textures and the rise and fall of modern citise. The arch is beautiful and does enhance the city, but so many projects in city take worn but useful buildings off the market to put a shiny satdium or failed ideas like St. Louis Center. Franco
